Volleyball Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Linton-Stockton Miners
Monrovia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Linton-Stockton Miners on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Monrovia was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-8, 25-23.
Josey Kizzee paced Monrovia's offense, picking up ten kills. Kizzee got some help from Lidia Tonner and her 15 assists. Tonner also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Allie Kizzee, racking up two apiece.
