Football Recap: Middlesboro Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Middlesboro can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Pikeville Panthers on Friday. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Middlesboro fell to 11-1. As for Pikeville, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Middlesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pikeville, they will face off against Raceland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
