Football Recap: Pinedale Wranglers vs. Mountain View Buffalos

Pinedale faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wranglers took a blow against the Buffalos, falling 41-14. The Wranglers lost against the Buffalos in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-0 score last time.

Mountain View got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justus Platts out in front who rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 107 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards Platts has posted since back in October of 2024. Mountain View's leading receiver Kolby Roitz was Platts' top target yet again, picking up 54 receiving yards, while also rushing for 32 yards and a pair of scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Pinedale and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Mountain View, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Meanwhile, Mountain View is set to square off against their familiar foe Worland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Buffalos 11.2, the Warriors 11.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
