Basketball Recap: Clyde Fliers vs. Edison Chargers

The Clyde Fliers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Edison by a score of 47-39 on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Clyde, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clyde to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taitum Jeffrey, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzlie Guhn, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jorja Byington, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Taylor Moore, who scored ten points along with five steals.

Clyde's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Edison, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Clyde will head out on the road to take on the Blue Streaks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sandusky will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Edison will take on the Crimson Flashes at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Willard's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
