Baseball Game Preview: Salado Eagles vs. Marble Falls Mustangs

Salado is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Marble Falls is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Salado was able to grind out a solid victory over Gateway College Preparatory, taking the game 7-2.

BJ Amann was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Trey Waters was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marble Falls). They blew past Akins 19-6 on Friday. Considering the Mustangs have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Salado's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Marble Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Everything went Salado's way against Marble Falls in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Salado made off with a 9-2 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
