For the second straight game, Enterprise will face off against Carver Montgomery. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Enterprise has seven straight wins, Carver Montgomery has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Carver Montgomery's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Enterprise hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. The Wildcats never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Tuesday. Dylan Yoo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Brady Richardson and Cayden Boutwell did most of the damage at the plate: Richardson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Boutwell went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Richardson has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Dalton Owens, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Enterprise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carver Montgomery only posted an OBP of .100.
Enterprise's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Carver Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Carver Montgomery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Enterprise hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. It's a different story for Carver Montgomery, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Enterprise's hitters?
