Baseball Recap: Menomonie Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Menomonie ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the La Crosse Logan Rangers 7-5. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered an 8-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mitchell Scribner and Charlie Mikesell did most of the damage at the plate: Scribner got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Mikesell went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two RBI gave Scribner a new career-high. Owen Welch was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Menomonie has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for La Crosse Logan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Coming up, Menomonie will square off against La Crosse Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for La Crosse Logan, they will be playing at home against Eau Claire North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
