Baseball Recap: Chino Valley Comes Up Short

Chino Valley came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-3 to the Tonopah Valley Phoenix. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Chino Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Tonopah Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Chino Valley will be playing at home against River Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Chino Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: River Valley has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Tonopah Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Parker at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Parker has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something Tonopah Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of.
