The Sparkman Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Athens Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sparkman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Athens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bob Jones only posted a batting average of .357.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Sparkman, they dropped their record down to 9-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sparkman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Athens struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Sparkman's way against Athens in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Sparkman made off with a 12-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sparkman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
