Baseball Recap: Harwood Finds Playoff Glory Versus Missisquoi Valley

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Harwood walked away with it. They came out on top against the Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Highlanders, who suffered a 6-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Nick Casey was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Casey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Ryan Lacey was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Pace Fulton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Harwood's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Missisquoi Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

As of now, neither Harwood nor the Thunderbirds have any future games scheduled.
