Baseball Game Preview: Pikesville Panthers vs. Eastern Tech Mavericks

Pikesville has won three straight games at home, while Eastern Tech has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Panthers will welcome the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pikesville will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Hereford on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Bulls 12-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ian Davis was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kairee Williams, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pikesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

While Eastern Tech didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Franklin on Tuesday. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Eastern Tech's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Pikesville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
