Recap: Josey Eagles vs. Washington County Golden Hawks

This season hasn't been kind to the Josey Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were beaten by Washington County 90-54 on Friday. Josey was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-25.

Kamonta Durden was a one-man wrecking crew for Washington County as he scored 33 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The match was Durden's third in a row with at least ten points. Brashod Heggs was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.

Josey's loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Washington County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Josey will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Laney at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Laney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Josey likes a good challenge. Washington County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hancock Central at 8:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hancock Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Washington County is ranked 199th).
