Basketball Recap: Greenwood Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Blackford

On Saturday, the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars were able to grind out a solid win over the Blackford Bruins, taking the game 51-43. That eight point margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Blackford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amarian Leggett, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points. With that strong performance, Leggett is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Gage Baker was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Greenwood Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Blackford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Greenwood Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-41 defeat against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on the 7th.
