Softball Recap: Xavier Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Xavier and Prairie had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lancers fell just short of the Fighting Hawks by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Lancers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Fighting Hawks since Thursday.

Xavier's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Prairie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Fighting Hawks beat Xavier by a score of 3-0 later that day.
