Preview: Middlebury vs. Hartford
Middlebury had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they take on Hartford at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Middlebury, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Middlebury had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 28-34 to Colchester.
Meanwhile, Hartford faced St. Johnsbury Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hartford skirted past St. Johnsbury Academy 35-33. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Hartford's win lifted them to 1-0 while Middlebury's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Hartford's success rolls on or if Middlebury are able to steal their positive momentum.
