Vancleave has gone 6-1 against St. Patrick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Vancleave Bulldogs will face off against the St. Patrick Fighting Irish at 2:00 p.m. Neither Vancleave nor St. Patrick posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Vancleave blew Pascagoula out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Pascagoula got their revenge. Vancleave fell just short of Pascagoula by a score of 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Vancleave saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Capers, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hornets. The two-run effort marked the Fighting Irish's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jacob Alexander was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Patrick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Central struck out ten times.

Vancleave's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for St. Patrick, their record now sits at 8-3.

Everything went Vancleave's way against St. Patrick in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Vancleave made off with a 9-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vancleave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
