After a string of 15 wins, Normangee's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grapeland Sandies. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 50-29 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Normangee's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 21-3. As for Grapeland, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Normangee and Grapeland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Normangee will challenge Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 590 places (512 vs. 1102). Normangee will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Grapeland (ranked 300th) will meet Groveton (ranked 1526th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
