Volleyball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer lost against Yutan back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Knights took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chieftains.

Janessa Overgaard paced Homer's offense, picking up seven kills. Overgaard got some help from Madi Roeber and her 14 assists. Kinley Murphy controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yutan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Govier, who had eight digs. That's the most digs Govier has posted over her last six games.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Yutan, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Homer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Bloomfield on the 22nd. As for Yutan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 20th.
