Baseball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Taylorsville Tartars, falling 14-0. The shutout was out of character for the Tigers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Taylorsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Newton has already played their next game, a 16-1 defeat against Union on the 29th. Taylorsville has also already played their next contest (against Pisgah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
