Preview: West Ridge Wolves vs. Johnson County Longhorns
West Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Johnson County Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on West Ridge, who comes in off a win.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but West Ridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 77-75 win over Tennessee. The win was all the more spectacular given West Ridge's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Tennessee is ranked 50th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-35, which was the final score in Johnson County's tilt against South Greene two weeks ago. Johnson County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Johnson County, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for West Ridge against Johnson County in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 55-28 victory. Will West Ridge repeat their success, or does Johnson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
