Basketball Game Preview: St. Ansgar Saints vs. Central Springs Panthers

The St. Ansgar Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Central Springs Panthers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, St. Ansgar had to suffer through a 82-50 loss at the hands of Newman Catholic. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Central Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Nashua-Plainfield 78-35. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 43 points.

Central Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for St. Ansgar, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

St. Ansgar strolled past Central Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 41-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Ansgar since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
