Softball Recap: Agua Fria Has No Trouble Against Westview

Agua Fria won the last time they faced Westview and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Owls were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Knights. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Owls this season.

Taylor McElroy was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Dodson, who got three hits from her three at bats.

Agua Fria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Agua Fria and bumps their season record up to 3-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Westview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Agua Fria didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-1 defeat against Prescott on the 3rd. As for Westview, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-8 win against Estrella Foothills on the 8th.
