Basketball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Lakeside Dragons

The Crestwood Red Devils will challenge the Lakeside Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crestwood has 11 straight victories, Lakeside has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Crestwood didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Berkshire, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Badgers are ranked 694th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crestwood's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dekota Johnson, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds, and Brody Durham, who put up 11 points and five steals. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Lincoln, who had six points.

Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lakeside was beaten by Edgewood 58-28 on Friday. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Crestwood pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
