Softball Recap: Monroeville Gets the Win

While Monroeville's victory against Carey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Blue Devils 6-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Taylor Scheid and Payton Weilnau did most of the damage at the plate: Scheid went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Weilnau went 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs Weilnau has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Alayna Tyler, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Monroeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carey only posted a batting average of .192.

Monroeville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carey, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Monroeville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-1 win against Plymouth on the 6th. As for Carey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-4 loss against Upper Sandusky on the 6th.
