Softball Game Preview: Dock Mennonite Pioneers vs. The Christian Academy

The Dock Mennonite Pioneers will face off against The Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dock Mennonite will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on March 14th, then bounced right back against MAST Community Charter on Tuesday. Dock Mennonite put the hurt on MAST Community Charter with a sharp 12-1 victory.

Aubrey Gahman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Gahman was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Landis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Nora Osifchin was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Dock Mennonite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MAST Community Charter only posted an OBP of .261.

Meanwhile, The Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Plumstead Christian 5-3.

Dock Mennonite took their win against The Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 19-0. Does Dock Mennonite have another victory up their sleeve, or will The Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
