Volleyball Recap: Nipmuc Regional Falls Short of East Bridgewater in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nipmuc Regional can now relate to. They came up short against the East Bridgewater Vikings on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Nipmuc Regional ultimately came up short, they really made East Bridgewater work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Kayleigh Fountain paced Nipmuc Regional's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fountain got some help from Gabrielle Leet and her 20 assists. Finally, Fountain was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Nipmuc Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for East Bridgewater, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Nipmuc Regional nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
