Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, La Joya had to make due with a tie. They and San Benito finished up their match with a 2-2 draw on Friday.

Harlingen's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. La Joya's draw gives them a new season record of 2-1-2.
