Basketball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

Union City lost against Winchester Community back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Union City Indians might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Winchester Community Golden Falcons an easy 59-37 win. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Union City lost, don't look at Oaklee Reichard. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points and six rebounds. Reichard has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Novah Mote was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Union City's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Winchester Community, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Union City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-39 win against Cambridge City Lincoln on the 20th. As for Winchester Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-54 defeat against Union County on the 21st.
