Baseball Recap: Point Pleasant Boro Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Point Pleasant Boro won against Liberty on Wednesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 14-4 victory. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Point Pleasant Boro got a great performance from Landon Hoyle as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Hoyle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ryan Kowalewski was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Jake Clayton was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Point Pleasant Boro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant Boro will venture away from home to square off against Toms River South on Saturday. As for Liberty, they will head out to challenge Toms River East on Saturday.
