Volleyball Recap: Limon Falls Despite Big Games from Braelyn Malcom and Chloe Stone + How To Watch

Limon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates. If the Badgers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Limon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18.

Chloe Stone and Braelyn Malcom certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Stone had 34 digs, while Malcom had 11 digs and two aces. Malcom is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Limon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

After both having extra time off, Limon and Deer Trail will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Badgers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Kit Carson on the 12th.
