Recap: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. North Duplin Rebels
The Neuse Charter Cougars have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 64-47 win over North Duplin on Tuesday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Neuse Charter has managed all season.
Jayvin Bradley was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Neuse Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Atkinson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
When it comes to explaining why North Duplin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Micah Lesesane. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Dujuan Armwood was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Neuse Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season. As for North Duplin, they bumped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neuse Charter will challenge Hobbton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
