Football Recap: Flushing Comes Up Short

Flushing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Far Rockaway Seahorses.

Flushing's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Far Rockaway, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Flushing will take on rival Campus Magnet at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, Far Rockaway is set to challenge their familiar foe Eagle Academy III on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Seahorses 14.6, the Eagles 0.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
