Basketball Recap: Westview Takes a Loss

Westview suffered their closest loss since December 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Peoria Panthers by a score of 63-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Panthers are ranked 224th).

With the defeat, Westview broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-8. As for Peoria, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will face off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Deer Valley likes a good challenge. As for Peoria, they will challenge Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
