DePaul Catholic faced Newark Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Spartans fell 6-0 to the Blue Devils. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

DePaul Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gianna Scrofani and Zyon Ferguson. Another thorn in Newark Central's side was Jaelynn Perez, who picked up a sack and made 15 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

DePaul Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Newark Central, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
