Baseball Recap: Spoto Find Success

Spoto hadn't done well against Riverview recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Spoto Spartans walked away with a 9-4 win over the Riverview Sharks. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Gavin Hansen looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Qwenlen Bennett was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Greg Hornsby was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Spoto's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Riverview, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Spoto didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Sumner on the 6th. As for Riverview, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-0 defeat against Newsome on the 6th.
