Dale County has gone a perfect 3-0 against New Brockton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Dale County Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the New Brockton Gamecocks at 3:00 p.m. Dale County will be strutting in after a win while New Brockton will be coming in after a defeat.
Dale County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Houston County on Thursday. Dale County was the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Houston County. That looming 18-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.
Madyson McLain and Shayleigh Whitman made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, McLain tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Whitman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. At the plate, McLain scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Whitman went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was Whitman's first of the season.

In other batting news, Dale County let Bre Wilkerson and Leah Grace Snellgrove run wild. Wilkerson scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Snellgrove scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Wilkerson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Iyonna McGhee also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Dale County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, New Brockton fell victim to Geneva and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 15-0. The Gamecocks haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Dale County pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for New Brockton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Dale County took their win against New Brockton when the teams last played back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 11-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dale County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
