Baseball Recap: Shawnee Indians vs. Memorial Roughriders
Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to the Memorial Roughriders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Shawnee of the 9-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.
Landon Gallegos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Shawnee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Bevilockway, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.
