Preview: Attica/Alexander vs. Le Roy Oatkan Knights

Attica/Alexander has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Le Roy Oatkan Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Attica/Alexander had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let Warsaw/Letchworth/Perry onto the board and left with a 42-0 win on Friday. Given Attica/Alexander's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Warsaw/Letchworth/Perry is ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Attica/Alexander to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landyn Thomas, who rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Trent Woods got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Le Roy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past East Rochester-Gananda, posting a 37-6 win at home.

Le Roy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Strollo out in front who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns. Tony Piazza also helped out as he racked up 122 rushing yards.

Their wins bumped Attica/Alexander to 9-1 and Le Roy to 10-0.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Attica/Alexander commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Le Roy struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Saturday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.

Attica/Alexander ended up a good deal behind Le Roy when the teams last played back in September, losing 44-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Le Roy's Piazza, who rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Now that Attica/Alexander knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
