After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Antioch, Vernon Hills was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Deerfield Warriors 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 8-5 loss.

Robert Miller looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Vernon Hills is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-20-1 otherwise.
