Basketball Recap: Jahveer Branch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ragsdale over Southwest Guilford

Ragsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 62-53 to the Southwest Guilford Cowboys. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-50 back in January.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahveer Branch, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Branch a new career-high in assists (four). Angel Rhoades was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Ragsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Southwest Guilford, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

When Ragsdale and Southwest Guilford next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Ragsdale will try to stop Northwest Guilford's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Southwest Guilford will challenge Grimsley and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
