Softball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Jaguars vs. South Park Eagles

The Thomas Jefferson Jaguars will face off against the South Park Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Thomas Jefferson beats South Park with nine runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Thomas Jefferson beat Montour on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Cam Noderer and Morgan Alisesky did most of the damage at the plate: Noderer scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Alisesky scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Alisesky also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Janosko, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, South Park put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Chartiers Valley as South Park made off with an 11-1 win.

Thomas Jefferson's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for South Park, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Thomas Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over South Park when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 6-2. Does Thomas Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
