Basketball Recap: Stewarts Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Stewarts Creek extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-4. They had to suffer through a 65-34 loss at the hands of the Cookeville Cavaliers. The Red Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in February.

As for Cookeville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 60.7 points this season.

Cookeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cara Lee Gilbert led the charge by shooting 57% from the field on her way to 23 points. The contest was Gilbert's third in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Gillies, who went 7-for-14 en route to 15 points.

Looking ahead, Stewarts Creek will head out on the road to challenge Nolensville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cookeville, they will host Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
