Kolbe-Cathedral is 0-9 against Masuk since May of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars will head out to face off against the Panthers at 4:15 p.m. Kolbe-Cathedral has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Kolbe-Cathedral challenged Pomperaug on Monday. The Cougars lost 17-5 to the Panthers.

Kolbe-Cathedral saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyiana Conquest, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Conquest is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another was Jaylynn Benjamin, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Masuk strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Notre Dame Prep by a score of 6-3.
Mary Saunders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josie Lieto, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Ely, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Masuk's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Kolbe-Cathedral hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Masuk struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Kolbe-Cathedral suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Masuk in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
