Softball Recap: Alhambra Lions vs. North Mustangs

After flying high against Carl Hayden Community last Tuesday, Alhambra came back down to earth. The Alhambra Lions took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Mustangs on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alhambra in their matchups with North: they've now lost six in a row.

For North's part, Solis Coker made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. Coker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, North let Victoria Fonseca and Eva Guzman loose on the outfield. Fonseca went 3-for-5 with four RBI, a triple, and a run, while Guzman scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
