Softball Recap: Chapmanville Regional Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Chapmanville Regional, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wyoming East Warriors on Thursday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

Peyton Lusk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lusk was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Lusk wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Murphy, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Murphy has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Hannah Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Chapmanville Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Chapmanville Regional's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Wyoming East, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Chapmanville Regional wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Belfry on the 12th. As for Wyoming East, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Woodrow Wilson on the 11th.
