Basketball Game Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds

The Scott Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three matchups.

Scott is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Campbell County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camels.

Meanwhile, Newport Central Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 53-36 bruising from Bishop Brossart.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Newport Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Scott beat Newport Central Catholic 47-40 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scott since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
