Elevation Prep Academy is 0-5 against Winston Salem Christian National since December of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Honey Badgers will square off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Elevation Prep Academy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They snuck past Jackson Day with a 65-60 victory.
Elevation Prep Academy can attribute much of their success to DIDIER ILUNGA, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds, and KEVIN RODRIGUEZ, who shot 63% from the field en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was TAYVEON EPPS, who posted nine points and six boards.
Elevation Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Winston Salem Christian National faced off against Bishop Ireton on Sunday. The Lions fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 75-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (63), the Lions still had to take the loss.
Elevation Prep Academy will need to focus on slowing down Elton James, one of several Winston Salem Christian National players who made an impact when they last played. He earned 17 points. Bradley Floyd was another key player, putting up 17 points.
Elevation Prep Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Winston Salem Christian National, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Elevation Prep Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.7 points per game. However, it's not like Winston Salem Christian National struggles in that department as they've been averaging 73.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Elevation Prep Academy was dealt a bruising 75-25 defeat at the hands of Winston Salem Christian National in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Honey Badgers were down 47-12.
