Soccer Recap: Berkeley Finds Playoff Glory Versus Vintage

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Berkeley walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Vintage Crushers on Wednesday. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Crushers are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berkeley's one-goal win came courtesy of Oliver Adams, who's now up to 15 this season.

Berkeley pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those seven matches. As for Vintage, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

Coming up, Berkeley will host Ukiah at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ukiah will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Berkeley surely won't give up without a fight. Vintage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
