Garden Grove dropped their record down to 18-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Estancia Eagles, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Argonauts couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Estancia, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

For Estancia's part, Vaughn McCrea made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. McCrea has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Atkinson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Marcos Kehoe also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden Grove will venture away from home to take on Santa Ana at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.48 runs per game on average), something the Argonauts will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Estancia, they will head out on the road to square off against Glenn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Estancia is facing Glenn at the right time seeing as Glenn is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
