Baseball Recap: Serra Catholic Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Serra Catholic won against Clairton last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Hopewell Vikings with a sharp 15-5 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jake Anderson was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Max Black was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Serra Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Serra Catholic's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.8 runs. As for Hopewell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

The Vikings are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
